Since my son turned 2, I have had messy kid's rooms. I am far from OCD, but the mess in the kid's room drove me crazy. Next to glitter it is the worse part about having kids. I have lamented on finding a way to keep the kids out of their closets. It finally dawned on me that somewhere on the internet someone has found a solution to this problem and so I searched on my favorite website of all time. Pinterest and found it in like two seconds. Deadbolt locks that are placed up top. Genius!!!! I was planning on doing a schmancy tutorial...my first I might add. I was so excited that I called one of my bestest girlfriends. Her reply was like "hmmmm.....why don't you try it like this and it would be soooo much easier then what you are attempting. I will send you a diagram" Ok so I was still stuck on the deadbolt idea until my husband came home and told me the fascia wouldn't allow us to use the deadbolt idea. So we attempted Kathy's idea and it has worked out marvelously. I would still like to do the tutorial, but seriously I would have to do a tutorial on how to drill a hole and how to stick a dowel through. It is that simple. So drumroll.....sticking a dowel through your sliding closet doors will change your life if you have kids 6 and under.

Your site is so cute and I love the closet lock. LOL. Look forward to seeing more of your posts :)
My solution was taking bags of toys to the garage. I left my littles with on box of toys until they kept them picked up and put away. :)
I have a box of toys in the garage too, my real problem was the clothes. My daughter loves to go through her clothes and no matter how high they are she would still manage to take them down. I can now have her outfits and her clothes organized. :)
Hey that is a good idea.
I just did my first craft from something I pinned. It's fun to actually do something from Pinterest rather than just pin :)
that's a great idea!
Oh my gosh, you are a genius! I have been trying to think of a solution to this problem for a long time. THANK YOU! I will be going to Lowes TODAY to get a dowel! Thanks again!
